Pastor Louis Brody Obituary
September 6, 1951 - February 15, 2013
Resided in Florence, SC
Louis attended the public schools of New Jersey and earned a degree in computer technology. In his younger years, he served in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged. In 1995, Louis moved to Florence, SC.
Louis was employed with the Department of Special Needs and was currently the Director of Food Services. One of Louis' passions was baking cakes, "Kingdom Kakes!" He loved the individuals and reflected that love in the food he served them.
He accepted Christ as his Savior and served at True Faith Fellowship Church in various capacities including: Choir Director, Sunday School Superintendent, Men's Ministry leader and Assistant Pastor. In 2001, Louis obeyed a call to establish Resurrection Outreach Ministries. The ministry's first outreach and Pastor Brody's first love was the youth. He initiated a youth mentor program in partnership with the Solicitor's Office to assist troubled youth, and was a certified mentor for the State of South Carolina. He also established "Resurrection Puppet Ministry", a ministry designed to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. In 2004, his compassion for the downtrodden led to establishing Resurrection Restoration Center for the Homeless which is a 501c3 non-profit transitional homeless program.
Left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy of love: his wife of 16 years, Modestine Williams Brody; eight children, Leah Brody and Joshua Williams of the home; Robert Brody Piper of Bensalem, PA; Desmond Williams and Demetrious Smoot of Florence County; Damar, Dane and Den'l Brody of Philadelphia, PA; three grandchildren, Ajahnon (A.J) Brody, Elijah Brody, Desmond Andre Williams II; his parents, Robert (Dorothy) Groce of Pennsylvania; four brothers, James Edward McCullough of CA; Jessie McDaniel; Talmadge McDaniel and Johnny McDaniel, all of Florence, SC; six sisters, Wendy (Bishop Jesse) Dixon of SC; Carolyn Carter of Madison, TN; Willette McFadden, Tijuana Richardson, both of Trenton, NJ; Maudie Ree Wright of Sandersville, GA and DiAnn (Bishop Eric) Woods of Maryland; a loving and devoted mother-in-law, Martha E.
